launching things...

Well, I've finally moved-on & created the blog. I've been talking about it & procrastinating for years now. It's another notch off the gigantic 2do list that's been a long time coming.

As Art Director for an advertising agency in the Central California area, I experience & witness a laundry list of rather interesting, amazing & mind boggling things. "deconstructing advertising" is going to be my place to vent, share, and provide an array of information or topics of discussion. Some seemingly useless, some potentially helpful. All of which will probably gravitate around the topics of marketing, advertising, graphic design, web development, the industry as a whole and other quirky business things.

I've been intending to compose this for so long, because I constantly find myself saying "I should write about that... either in hopes to see if I AM the only one... truly the crazy one... or does this really happen to everyone in the industry?". Especially after client meetings, or after prospective client presentations, and even just in between the day to day project development work flow.

I'm not sure that my intentions are to blast a weekly ranting rampage session so much, as I think I'm ultimately hoping to provide an insiders view of things, a fly-on-the-wall perspective. For everyone. But I'm hoping it also reaches the account execs, the CEOs, the COOs and all of the cogs that provide movement to the machine. I think it's really a review of how we arrive to the decisions we make, why we make them, and how we might do what we do better or different. Provide some insight to our process, for a smarter. savvier. And ultimately more functionally creative end result.

So cheers to Deconstructing Advertising & cheers to butchering grammatical this & thats.
It's what we do.
